The Department of Agriculture in the CARAGA Region has commissioned FREEDOM, Inc. to handle the Support to Emergency and Livelihood Assistance Project (SELAP) for selected municipalities in the CARAGA Region. The SELAP Project is a foreign assisted project funded through the US Public Law 480 (PL 480). The project is aimed to enhance the devolution of agricultural extension services and support poverty alleviation by providing investment support and technical assistance to participating LGUs in the poorest regions of Mindanao. The areas covered by the project are in the municipality of Santiago in the province of Agusan del Norte. The municipalities of San Francisco, Gigaquit, Alegria in Surigao del Norte and Dinagat, Libjo in Dinagat Islands, Lanuza, Hinatuan, Cagwait, San Agustin and Marihatag in Surigao del Sur. The team leaders for the project are Engr. Epimaco M. Galero, RonquilloGumilet and Winston Guillen. The Project Coordinator for the DA SELAP is Mr. Adrian Sabay. The project is expected to be concluded by February 28, 2014.
