FREEDOM, Inc. recently signed the contract with DAR Region 7 on the Implementation of the Farm Support Services of the Sugar Block Farming. Signing the agreement for Freedom Inc. is Winston Guillen, Project Director of Freedom Inc. in the Visayas Region and Regional Director Alejandro Otacan. The Sugar Block Farming approach is the consolidation of the management of small farms of less than five hectares, into a bigger but contiguous farming unit with a minimum size of 30 hectares for purposes of improving farm productivity while individual ownership is preserved. Freedom Inc. is in the process of winding up several sugar block farming projects in Negros Island.

FREEDOM, Inc. has already implemented the project in the Province of Cebu. It has redeployed some of the project team members who completed the Sugar Block Farming in Negros to Cebu. Freedom Inc. had deployed two project teams to implement the sugar block farming project.
